Fine-grained.
The grapes whose names begin with Cabernet, both Sauvignon and Franc, have been cultivated in this zone of the Veneto for hundreds of years due to certain conditions – such as the proximity of the sea, limestone and clay soil and a position on the 45th parallel – which it has in common from a pedoclimatic point of view with the more famous area of Bordeaux, where these grapes succeed in expressing their maximum quality anywhere in the world.
Here the philosophy for interpreting them is different: more prone towards lightness than complexity, and immediacy rather than persistence. The style, though, is always appealing, thanks to the wine’s notes of wild berries and marked but fine-grained tannins, which allow it to be served even cool, making it ideal for meals on the beach or summer barbeques.
