Introduction

In 1987, the same year Rollin Soles began to develop the prestigious Argyle Winery, he also purchased a unique hillside property in the Chehalem Mountain Range. Pinot Noir was planted there in 2001, and the first wine was produced in 2003. With Rollin Soles’ innovative
winemaking practices plus Corby Soles’ vision, ROCO wines reflect the very best of 30+ years of experience in Oregon viticulture and winemaking. The hills in the Willamette Valley are punctuated by gravel roads, which lead to the region’s finest vineyards. ROCO’s Gravel Road Chardonnay is a blend including the three best Chardonnay vineyards in the Willamette Valley: Wits’ End, Knudsen, and Marsh Estate Vineyards. Winemaker Rollin Soles’ own Wits’End in Chehalem Mountain blended with premium fruit from Marsh Estate and Knudsen Vineyards.

Technical notes

Layered aromas of honeyed pear and apple with apricot is riddled with bright starfruit. This wine is rich on the palate with generous flavors of ripe honeydew melon, yellow plum, and vanilla spice. Fruit richness plays off of mineral acidity leading to a long, memorable Chardonnay finish. Beautiful on its own and an outstanding value for Willamette
Chardonnay, the food pairing ideas are endless.

Food pairings

Most ideal with dishes that show richness and freshness, like a pizza of leeks and pecorino cheese or free-range roast chicken with lemons and lentils.
