Introduction
In 1987, the same year Rollin Soles began to develop the prestigious Argyle Winery, he
also purchased a unique hillside property in the Chehalem Mountain Range. Pinot Noir was planted there in 2001, and the first wine was produced in 2003. With Rollin Soles’ innovative winemaking practices plus Corby Soles’ vision, ROCO wines reflect the very best of 30+ years of experience in Oregon viticulture and winemaking.
The Stalker Pinot Noir is a unique wine. The fermentation style was developed by ROCO’s winemaker Rollin Soles in a quest to develop deeper, richer flavors in a Pinot Noir without adding heavy tannins. The name harkens to Rollin’s time in Australia, where they call the grape stems’ stalks’. Conceptualized by Rollin’s wife Corby Stonebraker-Soles, the label features Rollin being “stalked” by our logo, a Thunderbird.

Technical notes
Black cherry fruit and rose petal mix on the nose framed by dried tobacco leaf from the stems. The palate has a huge impression, with richness and acidity playing off each other, enveloped by blueberry and blackberry compote flavors. Look for forest floor earthy notes for added complexity on the long finish.
Food pairings
Enjoy this lovely balance of flavors and textures with rich dishes like grilled salmon steaks with rosemary red potatoes or five-spice duck breast with balsamic jus.
